Present post and occupation: Senior advisor to the head of the Prisons Organisation

He is alleged to have had an active role in the mass executions of political prisoners in 1988 in the city of Isfahan.

In 2011, the EU imposed sanctions on him for human rights violations as “Deputy Head of Iran’s Prisons Organisation, responsible for abuses and deprivation of rights in detention centre. He ordered the transfer of many inmates into solitary confinement” (Council Decision 2011/235/CFSP, of 12 April 2011, concerning restrictive measures directed against certain persons and entities in view of the situation in Iran).
