Iran’s 1988 Massacre

In 1988, the Government of Iran massacred an estimated 30,000 political prisoners. The executions took place based on a fatwa by Ayatollah Khomeini. The victims were buried in secret mass graves. JVMI was set up by families of the victims to end the impunity for the perpetrators, and establish the truth, justice and guarantees of non-recurrence.
